In an attempt to ensure my blog remains in compliance with 16 C.F.R. Part 255: Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising: Notice Announcing Adoption of Revised Guides, I have created this general disclosure tab in hopes of assuring my reader that I mean no harm to consumers.

  • I am an individual writing a (lame) blog for the primary purpose of forcing myself to write something beyond 140 characters.  Aside from sharing mundane bits of life with a friend or two  (who may or may not bother to read my musings), this blog has no audience, no influence, and no impact on anyone else.
  • This blog is not intended to have readers.  If  someone picks up  on it and wants to read, I certainly won’t object, but I’m far too boring for people to follow and far too realistic to believe that anyone will  notice anything I write.  Thus, I hereby declare that any blogs that include discussion about product(s) or service(s) are strictly meant as a documentary narrative of my (dull) life.
  • As I understand it, the FTC requires that I divulge the source of the commodities that are discussed within my blog.  I solemnly swear that I do not receive gifts, cash contributions, trial merchandise, kickbacks, or even praise for reviewing, assessing, observing, or talking about anything in this blog.   Every product, service, and/or commodity I write about is bought and paid for by me.   If there are ever any exceptions,  I will be sure to let my reader know.
  • My opinions are reflections of my own experience – your mileage my vary.
  • If any companies would like to sign me to a 7-figure endorsement deal, please feel free to contact me.  Now,  I am sane enough to admit that it is unlikely that I’ll receive even one lucrative offer, but I do like to keep my options open.

Thanks for checking out my disclosure statement.  I hope my reader feels more secure and protected by knowing that anything I want I still have to buy for myself because I am neither rich nor famous.
